[US 99] - Tejon Pass

Shown here, US 99 crests over Tejon Pass at 4144 ft. in elevation. This pass has changed its elevation at least three times. In 1951, it was 4183. The original lanes once crossed over what is now I-5 to the right of this photo. This has always been a major route to and from Los Angeles. It is the gateway to the San Joaquin Valley and Sacramento. In 1951, this section of US 99 was converted to an expressway. Tejon Pass used to be known as Hollands Summit.
