Postcard of Gorman from the late 1950's. Taken from the southern end of town.

Here in Gorman, US 99 had three lanes in 1933. These lanes are visible as black lines in the road. In 1951, US 99 was converted to a four lane highway and bypassed the town. That alignment is mostly underneath I-5. This is also where the Ridge Route joins US 99. Even though this town has been bypassed by the Interstate, it still thrives. The Carl's Jr. is one of the busiest in the chain. To continue north from here, turn left at Gorman School Road, go under the freeway to Peace Valley Road. Turn Right at Peace Valley Road.
