The small town of Little Lake is now mostly abandoned but used to be a stop along old US 6. In 1966, the town was bypassed by one of the first segments of expressway along US 6/395. The lake rests in the ancient bed of the glacial Owens River. Just north of here are waterfalls called Fossil Falls as they are now a dry falls. We are now also in Inyo County and will remain so until north of Bishop.
