Sierra Highway is the north/south road. Placerita Canyon Road runs beneath the bridge in
center. The connector to SB Sierra Highway is partially visible today in the SW corner of
the modern intersection.

View of the old bridge site from Placerita Canyon Road. The bridge used to
exist between the two poles.
In 1938, Sierra Highway was built through here. A bridge had to be built over Placerita Canyon and Road. Connector roads extending from Placerita Canyon Road were built to allow traffic access to Placerita Canyon. In 1968, the bridge was eliminated and the highway was widened. Very little remains of the original roadways around here. In 1972, the Antelope Valley Freeway was opened bypassing Sierra Highway.
