Looking South towards the San Fernando Valley.

This section of highway was built in 1938. The outer lanes are concrete and the center lane is asphalt. The center lane was a common passing lane or "Suicide Lane". It was bypassed in 1963 when I-405 was constructed. Today, it is known as Blucher Avenue.
