Runs from I-5 near Sylmar to SR-57 in San Dimas
SR-210 runs from SR-57 in San Dimas to I-215 in San Bernardino (Route 210 covers the remainder of SR-30 to Redlands at I-10)

The Foothill Freeway is one of the most diverse in the Los Angeles area. It goes through mountains, along the foothills, and is an urban freeway along many of its miles. It is also entirely in Los Angeles County, for now. The first segment to be constructed opened in 1955 near Devils Gate Dam. It was eventually bypassed. Much of the freeway was constructed from 1968 to 1975 with the last segment of the freeway opening was in 1980 near Sunland. This was the famed section of freeway used in the TV show - CHiPs. HOV lanes run along the freeway from Pasadena at SR-134 to the Glendora Curve at SR-57.
