Stratigraphic Column of the Deposits in the Santa Clarita Valley

These columns show deposits north and south of the San Gabriel Fault. The reason for this is the San Gabriel Fault is a major part of the structure of this valley and deposits on either side of it are therefore different. It marks the boundary line between the predominantly marine Ventura Basin and the predominantly non-marine Soledad Basin.
