Introduction to Me, Michael Ballard
My name is Michael Ballard. I am 29 years old. I have been studying geology for about 24 years now. My plan for the future is to get a degree in Structural Geology. I also have a big interest in highways, new and old. I also have a boyfriend that shares many interests since mid 2001. Presently, I am live in San Diego and attend San Diego City College. I am working towards an AS, then transfer to SDSU for my Masters in Geological Sciences. I also work for the County of San Diego Department of Environmental Health.
I have done quite a bit of traveling for a person my age. So far, I've been to 46 states, missing South Carolina, Maine, Alaska, and Hawaii. I've traversed all of every State highway in California, all of I-5 and I-10 across the US. One goal of mine is to travel to all of the 50 states and most of the National Parks/Monuments. The only National Park I haven't been to in California is Channel Islands. Santa Catalina Island isn't a part of the park, but I have been there.
On June 24, 2001, I started a bike ride from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to Santa Clarita. It took me seven days to complete the ride and was 505 miles long. Here is the site.
